| PRESENTATION AND HISTORY OF CHEVAUX DE TAN | ||
| Les Chevaux de Tan, my friend and I are headed, aims to raise and sell horses to race gypsy cob also known as the irish cob, gypsy vanner horse or tinker and to discover this race to the public. | ||
| Bourguerelle Farm's | ||
|
Being rather attracted by draft horses and horses of color, I came across an article on the tinker, and I decided to have one. I bought Alcyon at Domaine du Vallon at the age of 6 months. Alcyon had character, but he was also very quiet, obedient while being dynamic. We quickly sympathized Alcyon and quickly became the horse of my life, it has a lot of personality, it only needs the floor. Fabienne, David and I have established the farm Bourguerelle where we welcome horses in pension and little by little, we took an "orientation" irish cob by purchasing 2 mares… and in a short time, we become breeders / Stockists irish in cobs. We then took a different direction, the farm's Bourguerelle was sold, horses, except Alcyon and Gwenog Tan that I kept. Patrick, from Domain Elweis bought half of Bourguerelle and Callaghan had custody. I still have the other half of Callaghan and can be used to protrude my mares if I wished.

| Moving near Evreux (27) - France | ||
| Gilles, long time friend and leisure jumper with draft horses, and I have decided to put us in search of another property. Veronica and my friend were soon grafted to the project. And we all fell under the spell of a property of 16 hectares at the Bonneville-sur-Iton, a few kms from Evreux. This property is not a farm, it is totally atypical, and the framework is exceptional. After an industrial zone from the 30, once past the gate, we discover a mixture of 2 worlds very different: 16 hectares in total crossed by 2 arm of the Iton including 10 hectares of meadows and almost 4 acres of river surrounded by woods, it all feels in Canada.

||
| We have therefore acquired and little by little, we adapt to install horses: rebuilding bridges, fences to ask, to build shelters, build hangar… The horses will live primarily outdoors given their hardiness. | ||
| Choosing the name "Horses" Tan | ||
|
The choice of this name has several origins. First, it was chosen as a tribute to Gwenog Tan, the only foal of Bourguerelle that I was able to keep and which is somewhat become a mascot. Gwenog Tan had been named because of his robe special alezane speckled with white: In Breton, "Gwenn" means "white" and "Tan" means "Fire". The 2nd reason for this choice is due to the environment: Starting in the Middle Ages, southwest of Evreux, the construction of numerous mills along the river has contributed to economic development in the Valley of the Iton. It had crushed wheat to make flour, or the bark of red oak to extract the "tan". TAN This was then used for tanning hides. The logo represents a phoénix. My personal goal is to satisfy my passion for gypsy cob with the finest specimens of this possible race and to share this passion with the greatest number. My greatest happiness is to take care of these horses every day of emergency and to be spoiled. You can visit by appointment and the merely curious are also welcome. Laurence |
